My Good News

Hi Everyone -

I hope you are all doing well. Congratulations to everyone on the engagements and houses and marriages and babies. Its awesome that things seem to be working out so well for all of you. I love getting updates on what's going on in your lives.

On that note - I thought I would give an update of my own. Things have been hectic for me, but good. Yesterday I was given a job offer from the law firm I worked at this past summer, so I have guaranteed employment after I finish law school - which is a huge relief. I'm going to be a tax attorney, which sounds really boring and lame, but I love it. The thing about being a tax attorney is that my firm wants me to get my LLM (Master of Laws) in tax. So this year I will be finishing up my last year of law school (one semester of which I will be studying abroad in Portugal), then I will take my bar exam, and then the next year I will be getting my LLM. So the job offer I just got is for a job I won't be working until May of 2010. Yikes.

The exciting news about the LLM is that there is a 50% chance I will be going to NYU to get it. None of the schools here in St. Louis have a very good LLM program, and my firm recommended that I go to either NYU or Georgetown. So for all you who live in New York, you might get to see my happy face much more often for a while!

Besides that, there isn't really much going on in my life. I have another week and a half until the new semester starts, and then its back to the usual law school grind. So I'm trying to get all my errands and stuff done before then - catching up all of the things I've been putting off. So I hope you all are having a good time - call or email whenever - I'd love to hear from all of you.
