Just a LIttle Update from the Pine Tree State
Hi Everybody.
I have been a bum about being in touch with everyone, in general, and I hope you can forgive me. For some reason I've just been in a mode of not feeling like being on the phone or writing, or whatever. So lame. Anyway, I'm trying to motivate myself out of it a bit, and one good thing is that I have internet at home now, so I am more inclined to get on line and check my e-mail. In any case, I've been thinking about my PC buds, and I hope you are all well! I am now just over a year in my new house, and I am still liking it! I feel good about having a home, if not sometimes a little daunted by some of the maintenance, but it keeps me learnin'. I have been collecting tools, and I love my cordless drill! :)
I went down to DC in April to visit my aunt, and had wanted to catch up with Shauna and Matt and whoever else is down there, but my plans changed up fast because my aunt became ill with a relapse of pneumonia she had just fought off (so we all thought), and then she passed away. This was two weeks after losing a cousin from the same side of the family. It was tough in both cases, but especially tough with my aunt because she was special to me, and she was my mother's older sister, and had alwys reminded me a great deal of my mother. I'm still sad, but I'm okay. I think it put me in a bit of a funk, but otherwise, I have had a good year. Things have fallen nicely into place and I have been feeling generally at ease with my life, which has been really nice.
I am winding down the school year and hoping to get organized enough to get a garage built before the snow falls again. I have a couple weddings to go to this summer but I am mostly staying put. If anyone is up for checking out Maine, feel free to come on by. I'll be hangin' out.
Patrick, I will finish that movie I started! (Probably not until school gets out, though.)
I still enjoy hearing from and about you all, and occasionally find some of you do surprise me in my dreams.
Keep up the good work, everyone!
Martha
